Treatment Focus:

EMDR Intensive

EMDR Intensive therapy is a prolonged EMDR session aimed at increasing the efficiency of memory processing by addressing traumatic events or adverse life experiences.

EMDR Intensive Treatment

EMDR intensive therapy is needed in early childhood, adolescence, and adulthood to help individuals process and cope with traumatic events that may have occurred in their life, such as abuse or neglect, which can lead to emotional distress, anxiety, and depression. In my practice, I use EMDR therapy to address these traumas by helping my clients process their memories and learn skills to manage nervous system dysregulation.

Early Childhood:

EMDR Intensive Therapy is a prolonged form of EMDR that aims to increase the efficiency of memory processing, particularly in cases of traumatic events or adverse life experiences. It may be particularly beneficial for children who have experienced trauma, as it can help them to quickly process and cope with their experiences in a safe and effective manner. A child may present with symptoms such as nightmares, flashbacks, and avoidance behaviors that impede their daily functioning, and EMDR Intensive Therapy may help them to overcome these symptoms and improve their overall well-being.

Adolescence:

EMDR Intensive therapy is particularly beneficial for adolescents who have experienced traumatic events, such as physical or emotional abuse, as it can help them process and cope with the memories more efficiently. Adolescents may benefit from the longer session format and breaks provided in EMDR Intensive therapy, allowing them to better manage their emotional responses to the traumatic memories. With the help of an experienced therapist, adolescents can learn skills to manage their nervous system dysregulation and lower their distress around traumatic events through EMDR Intensive therapy.

Adulthood:

Adults may need EMDR intensive therapy to quickly and efficiently process traumatic experiences or adverse life events, such as physical or emotional abuse, accidents, or natural disasters, that may be causing ongoing distress and impacting daily functioning. The intensive format allows for extended processing sessions and a more efficient use of time, leading to reduced distress and improved emotional regulation. Additionally, adults may benefit from the emotional tolerance skills and resources learned during EMDR intensive therapy to manage symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related conditions.

Treating Attachment Difficulties

As a counselor, I treat attachment disorder by building a therapeutic relationship with the patient. This involves helping the patient identify and process past traumas and negative experiences that may have contributed to their attachment disorder. I teach them new coping mechanisms for managing emotions and forming healthier relationships. I also provide a safe and supportive environment to help the patient develop trust and a sense of safety, which is crucial for patients with attachment disorder.
